Software Engineer

TL;DR

Software Engineer: Developing and maintaining robust infrastructure for the ingest, long-term preservation, and delivery of environmental data products with an accent on Agile methodologies and data stewardship. Focus on building efficient software processes to support NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) missions.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Silver Spring, MD; Stennis Space Center, MS; Boulder, CO; or Asheville, NC (Hybrid). US Citizenship and Public Trust clearance required.

Salary: $64,000–$70,000

• Develop and maintain software infrastructure for environmental data ingest and delivery.
• Collaborate within an Agile team to support NCEI Data Stewardship Division objectives.
• Ensure long-term preservation and accessibility of complex environmental datasets.
• Implement efficient processes for data management spanning ocean to atmospheric data.
• Contribute to the Software Development Branch's mission-critical technical solutions.

Requirements

• US Citizenship required for Public Trust clearance.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity at designated locations.
• Experience in software development and infrastructure maintenance.
• Ability to work effectively within an Agile team environment.
