Special Education Tutor

Location: Remote within the United States; assignments may require availability during Pacific Time hours.

What you will do

• Deliver individualized 1:1 and small-group virtual instruction aligned with student IEP goals, accommodations, and learning profiles.
• Create structured lesson plans aligned with student goals, grade-level standards, and required modifications.
• Adapt instruction in real time based on student questions, progress, and engagement.
• Track student progress and communicate with families and school district partners when applicable.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience supporting students with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, or other special education needs.
• Familiarity with IEPs, 504 plans, and accommodations such as extended time, chunked instruction, and multisensory approaches.
• Ability to design and deliver lessons aligned with student goals and accommodations.
• Strong virtual instruction skills, including video conferencing, digital whiteboards, and online student engagement.
• Ability to pass a background check and maintain a reliable computer, internet connection, webcam, and quiet workspace.

Nice to have

• Active or previous teaching credential, especially in Special Education.
• Experience with Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading, or structured literacy methodologies.
• Bilingual Spanish/English skills.
