Special Education Tutors (Education)

Location: Oakland, California, United States. Workplace: On-site tutoring at students' homes. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2–3 times per week, after school or from 2 p.m. onward; each session lasts 1.5 hours.

What you will do

• Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions for students with special education needs.
• Develop customized lesson plans and teaching strategies aligned with each student's Individualized Education Plan.
• Adapt instructional methods, materials, and assessments to individual learning styles and requirements.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional techniques as needed.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and special education teams.
• Support students' academic, emotional, and behavioral development in a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

• Ability to commute to and from Oakland, California and provide tutoring at students' homes.
• Previous experience with special education, accommodations, and students with learning disabilities is required.
• A bachelor's degree.
• Ability to make learning interactive and adapt sessions to student questions and needs.
• Ability to pass a background check if required.

Nice to have

• Credentialed Special Education Teacher certification.
