Network Security Engineer (Fortinet)

Location: Remote (Must be based in the Carolinas region, USA); on-site visits and occasional travel required.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical expert for Fortinet solutions, providing guidance to internal teams and customers.
• Collaborate with sales to define customer requirements and propose tailored security architectures.
• Design and implement FortiGate firewalls, secure access, endpoint protection, and management systems.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for deployed security solutions.
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and create technical documentation for clients.
• Develop and execute proof-of-concept (PoC) demonstrations to showcase product capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiClient, and FortiSIEM.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, VPNs, IPS, and firewall technologies.
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
• Must be based in the Carolinas region (USA).
• Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site deployments and meetings.

Nice to have

• Relevant Fortinet certifications such as NSE 4, NSE 5, NSE 6, or NSE 7.
