AWS Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote (within the US) or Hybrid in Charleston, SC

What you will do

• Lead and perform technical security assessments on client AWS environments.
• Develop tailored security guidance and roadmaps aligned with specific business requirements and goals.
• Collaborate with the Detection and Response Team to identify and remediate active security incidents.
• Research and develop automation tools to streamline security tasks and responsibilities.
• Mentor other employees and create educational content, including blog posts, for the security community.

Requirements

• Experience designing, implementing, and monitoring AWS infrastructure and security solutions.
• Proven track record of investigating and responding to security incidents within AWS.
• Strong understanding of security control frameworks, including NIST CSF, 800-53, and CIS Benchmarks.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of professional experience in the cybersecurity industry.
• Experience with modern software engineering stacks, including Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless technologies.
