Lead Backend Engineer (TypeScript)

What you will do

• Define the long-term architectural roadmap for API services and backend infrastructure.
• Manage and mentor a growing team of high-performing engineers, fostering technical excellence.
• Collaborate with Product Management to translate business requirements into scalable technical features.
• Own the backend release cycle and oversee weekly production deployments.
• Contribute high-quality, production-ready code in TypeScript.
• Implement security best practices to meet the rigorous standards of large regulated customers.

Requirements

• Profound expertise in TypeScript, including deep knowledge of the type system and asynchronous patterns.
• Advanced proficiency in AWS serverless architecture (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, API Gateway, EventBridge).
• Proven track record in REST API design and building scalable backend systems.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and providing technical leadership.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
• Must be based in Brazil.
• BSc in Computer Science (or related field) from a top-tier university and 4+ years of experience at a world-class enterprise (FAANG or high-growth unicorn).
