Senior Software Engineer (C++/Java)

TL;DR

What you will do

• Contribute production code to the encoding stack using Java, Kotlin, and C++ as a full member of the engineering team's sprints.
• Own technical relationships with marquee US enterprise accounts during EU off-hours, triaging and troubleshooting encoding issues.
• Debug live, distributed systems under pressure using log analysis, error diagnosis, and network traces.
• Travel to customer sites (up to 25%) to support integrations, run technical workshops, and handle escalations.
• Feed field learnings and customer feedback back into sprint planning and the product roadmap.

Requirements

• 5+ years of senior-level software engineering experience, strong in Java or C++.
• 2+ years in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions architecture or professional services.
• Experience with Cloud (AWS and/or GCP), Docker, and debugging scalable distributed services.
• Must be based on the US East Coast or in Denver.
• Must already have the right to work in the United States.
• Excellent written and verbal English for communicating with enterprise engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Video streaming domain knowledge: codecs (H.264/HEVC, AV1), container formats, HLS/DASH, and OTT workflows.
• Prior experience at a SaaS or media-tech vendor in a forward-deployed or solutions architect role.
• Experience with competing encoding platforms like AWS MediaConvert, Harmonic, or MediaKind.
• Experience with live streaming and 24/7 operations, including incident management.
