TL;DR

What you will do

  • Provide design and test support across various phases of hardware development.
  • Perform testing and verification of flight hardware while maintaining baseline test configurations.
  • Generate essential technical documentation, including Task Performance Sheets (TPS), Discrepancy Reports (DR), and Detailed Test Procedures (DTP).
  • Plan and execute hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical and electrical failures.
  • Collaborate with project managers and technicians to build and test designed systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited school.
  • Experience in the field or a related engineering area.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency may be required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government background investigation.
  • Ability to operate in a laboratory environment and perform troubleshooting tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to prepare technical written documents.

Nice to have

  • Experience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes.
  • Prior experience with hardware anomaly troubleshooting and failure analysis.
  • Experience with procedure development and coordinating requirements with third-party vendors.
  • Co-op or intern experience at JSC or another NASA agency.
  • Familiarity with NASA Quality operational procedures and requirements.
