TL;DR

Senior Manager, Hardware Reliability & Test (Aerospace): Leading and building the hardware reliability and test organization to ensure consistent qualification across satellite platforms with an accent on system reliability narratives, test frameworks, and shared tooling. Focus on scaling test capabilities from module-level to fully assembled spacecraft while driving consistency across engineering teams.

Location: Must be based in San Jose, CA (Hybrid: 3 days/week on-site)

Salary: $202,000 - $223,000

hirify.global is an end-to-end Space Systems Provider designing and operating LEO satellite constellations for mission-critical Earth Intelligence data.

What you will do

  • Build, lead, and grow the Hardware Reliability & Test organization across three core functions.
  • Define and ensure consistent test conditions and qualification levels across all spacecraft platforms.
  • Develop and maintain quantitative reliability models to identify design gaps and inform testing strategies.
  • Own the hardware test frameworks, standards, and automated test infrastructure from module to spacecraft level.
  • Provide shared hardware, software, and logistical resources to support qualification and lifetime testing.
  • Communicate reliability posture and test status to leadership and external customers.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. person or eligible for export control authorization (ITAR/EAR).
  • 10+ years of experience in hardware test, qualification, or reliability engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
  • Hands-on experience qualifying complex hardware for spaceflight or demanding environments (thermal, vacuum, vibration, EMI/EMC).
  • Working knowledge of reliability analysis methods such as FMEA and statistical modeling.
  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Nice to have

  • Experience with spacecraft environmental test standards like NASA GEVS or SMC-S-016.
  • Experience with test data pipelines and results databases at scale.
  • Familiarity with industry reliability standards like MIL-HDBK-217, ECSS, or ISO 26262.
  • Experience standing up new teams and test capabilities.
