TL;DR

Producer (Natural History/TV): Managing the production of a landmark nature series episode, including directing key shoots and overseeing the production team with an accent on narrative creativity and technical execution. Focus on turning scientific discoveries into accessible stories while managing budgets and strict delivery schedules.

Location: Bridgewater House, Bristol (at least 4 days per week in the office)

Salary: £48,000 - £65,000

What you will do

• Take full responsibility for one episode and manage the production team during the filming period.
• Direct key shoots personally while overseeing the execution of other shoots across the schedule.
• Plan strategically to ensure the programme remains on schedule and within budget.
• Oversee health and safety for shoots, particularly in highly specialized filming environments.
• Ensure all filming aligns with the creative direction and the original episode pitch.
• Maintain a strict duty of care toward animals, locations, and the wider environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience producing major landmark behaviour-led films to blue-chip standards.
• Strong directorial skills with a track record of delivering visually stunning, character-led stories.
• Ability to solve problems under pressure and manage production budgets successfully.
• Experience working in diverse teams and supporting the career development of colleagues.
• Willingness to travel to locations to direct shoots and manage complex remote filming.
• Ability to adapt to changing client strategies and commissioner requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience working with US-based 3rd party clients and an understanding of the US audience.
• Strong writing skills for scripting, story pitches, and programme overviews.
• Experience in creating 'Behind the scenes' content.
