What you will do

• Write engaging, on-brand copy for product, commerce, advertising, CRM, and social channels.
• Apply and evolve the Matalan tone of voice principles across live briefs.
• Collaborate with designers, art directors, and client teams to ensure creative consistency.
• Sub-edit and proofread copy to maintain high standards of accuracy.
• Develop tone of voice tools, guidelines, and training materials for internal and client teams.
• Stay updated on fashion and retail trends to inform creative output.

Requirements

• Strong writing background in fashion, style, or editorial sectors.
• Experience in developing or applying a brand tone of voice within retail or lifestyle contexts.
• Ability to work with ambiguity and translate loosely defined briefs into confident creative decisions.
• Meticulous attention to detail with solid sub-editing and proofreading skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interpret client needs.
• Understanding of copy requirements across digital channels including email, social, and e-commerce.
