Mortgage Loan Officer (Mortgage Lending)

Location: Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, United States

Salary: $11.54 per hour plus commission

What you will do

• Sell and originate residential mortgage loans while working toward established sales goals.
• Meet with prospects and explain mortgage products, services, terms, and application requirements.
• Guide customers through applications, documentation, underwriting, processing, loan commitment, and closing.
• Enter accurate information into mortgage loan and automated underwriting systems and prepare supporting files.
• Coordinate with customers, underwriters, processors, realtors, closing agents, and referral partners.
• Attend closings, homebuyer seminars, home shows, broker meetings, and financing workshops as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent progressive work experience.
• At least 2 years of mortgage origination experience.
• Proven sales ability, negotiation skills, strong communication, and time management.
• Knowledge of mortgage products, lending practices, policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to learn mortgage origination and automated underwriting systems and work independently toward sales goals.
• Eligibility for employment with a covered financial institution and registration as a mortgage loan originator with NMLS are required.
