What you will do

• Own backend architecture and system design decisions from whiteboard to production alongside the CTO.
• Build and scale the core platform using a Node.js and Python stack with Azure Databricks as the data layer.
• Design and implement optimization-heavy algorithms for demand planning and production scheduling.
• Establish engineering patterns, standards, and discipline as the team grows from its earliest stage.
• Collaborate directly with product and data functions in a small, high-impact team.
• Mentor and eventually lead a team of engineers, maintaining a high technical bar.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of engineering experience, with a strong track record in startup environments.
• Demonstrated 0>1 experience building and scaling B2B SaaS products to thousands of customers.
• Proficiency in Node.js and Python, and comfort across a modern JavaScript stack.
• Experience with Azure Databricks or comparable cloud data platforms.
• Ability to operate comfortably in ambiguity, wearing multiple hats and owning outcomes end-to-end.

Nice to have

• Experience building or working within AI/ML-integrated stacks.
• Exposure to optimization algorithms, operations research, or scheduling systems.
