Salary: $163,000 – $247,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Design and build systems for tax registrations, authorizations, and agency filings across jurisdictions.
• Develop automation bots and pipelines to maintain accurate account data with tax agencies.
• Model complex compliance rules into maintainable systems ensuring high correctness and reliability.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Tax Operations to turn compliance pain into scalable solutions.
• Mentor other engineers to improve technical craft and solve complex domain problems at scale.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Experience owning multi-quarter projects with measurable customer impact at scale.
• Expertise in designing APIs and data models for rules-heavy domains (compliance, tax, or payments).
• Experience leveraging AI tools or systems to accelerate development and improve testing.
• Ability to mentor engineers and communicate effectively with business stakeholders.
• Must be based in the US and able to travel for onboarding.

Nice to have

• Experience with or interest in Ruby on Rails.
• Appreciation for a collaborative, test-driven development (TDD) environment.
