Associate AI Builder (Agentic AI): Build agentic systems that deliver end-to-end patient experiences for scheduling, referrals, medication refills, billing, and payment estimation with an accent on translating customer operational reality into technical solutions you architect and code. Focus on reliability improvements in production, onboarding customers onto what you build, and developing subject-matter expertise across healthcare workflows and integrations.

What you will do
- Own end-to-end delivery and realized outcomes for named customers, representing Artera in customer conversations.
- Identify customer pain points and create roadmaps for solving problems.
- Align stakeholders, connect required data pipelines, and manage onboarding onto solutions.
- Build novel agentic solutions by translating operational reality into technical designs and code using internal agentic systems.
- Instrument, monitor, and improve reliability; create production-driven enhancements and participate in on-call where applicable.
- Develop domain expertise and mentor/onboard newer builders while contributing to squad-level prioritization with the Head of Segment.
Requirements
- 0β2 years of professional experience in software engineering, data science, machine learning, product management, product design, or technical project management (or equivalent output); open to fresh graduates.
- AI-native fluency: ability to produce output comparable to multiple traditional engineers using AI-native tools (e.g., Claude Code in the terminal) as the primary working environment.
- Ability to work directly with customers: onboarding, owning the relationship, and translating conversations into technical decisions.
- Product-manager curiosity and project-manager discipline: asks βwhyβ before βhow,β scopes/sequences work, communicates status, and lands deliverables.
- Written and verbal communication to present complex concepts to teammates, managers, and customers.
- U.S. location requirement: must reside in or be willing to relocate to Santa Barbara, CA; Seattle, WA; or Kansas City, KS/MO.
Nice to have
- Experience in healthcare technology, digital health, or patient-facing products.
- Hands-on experience building production agentic systems, RAG pipelines, or MCP-based tool integrations.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, HITRUST, or FedRAMP compliance considerations.
- Experience with EHR integrations (Epic, athena, eClinicalWorks, NextGen) or call center/CCaaS integrations.
- Experience writing evals and quality benchmarks for LLM-driven systems.
