What you will do

• Design and maintain core financial engines, including order routing, double-entry ledgers, and automated reconciliation systems.
• Build high-throughput, fault-tolerant infrastructure optimized for concurrency and partial network failures.
• Integrate with partner clearing broker-dealers, banking rails (ACH, wires), FX mechanisms, and KYC/AML providers.
• Take end-to-end operational ownership, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and on-call rotations.
• Develop robust internal tools and dashboards for operations, compliance, and support teams.
• Support underlying data pipelines powering real-time AI research and content-translation engines.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and scaling high-availability production backend systems.
• Proven track record of owning mission-critical systems handling money movement, balances, and ledgering.
• Deep expertise in Go, Python, Node.js, Rust, or Java, and production data infrastructure (Relational DBs, distributed queues).
• Strong instincts for distributed systems trade-offs, including transaction isolation and idempotency.
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning and writing thorough postmortems.
• High comfort navigating ambiguity and contributing to product strategy in a startup environment.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling consumer fintech or brokerage platforms to 100k+ active users.
• Domain knowledge in capital markets (OMS, tax-lot accounting, post-trade settlement).
• Experience with BaaS APIs, double-entry accounting ledgers, or stablecoin settlement.
• Language fluency relevant to East Asian markets (e.g., Korean or Japanese).
