What you will do

• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures for analytical and operational workloads.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for efficient data movement from various sources.
• Manage and tune cloud data warehouses, specifically BigQuery and Snowflake, for performance and cost.
• Implement data governance, security, and privacy frameworks to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with analytics teams to build data models and enable self-service BI.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including data dictionaries and lineage tracking.

Requirements

• Certified SnowPro.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering with modern cloud platforms.
• Expertise in Snowflake (performance tuning, security, and modeling) and advanced SQL.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and orchestration.
• Experience with dbt and orchestration tools like Dagster or Apache Airflow.
• Must be based in Canada (GTA or GVA) and align with ET/PT timezones.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake Cortex, Snowpark, or integrated ML workflows.
• Familiarity with GenAI, LLM-enabled analytics, and semantic layers.
• Experience with Databricks or hybrid Snowflake + Databricks setups.
• Knowledge of real-time data pipelines and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
• Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform.
