Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake)

Location: Latin America, preferably aligned with Pacific Time or Eastern Time hours. Candidates in Santiago, Chile may work from the Santiago office as remote or hybrid employees; candidates outside Santiago are fully remote.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures for analytical and operational workloads.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines that process data from multiple sources.
• Collaborate with backend, platform, and analytics engineers to integrate data systems and define data models.
• Manage and optimize cloud data warehouses, primarily BigQuery, with a focus on performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement data governance, security, privacy, documentation, lineage, and metadata management practices.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve pipeline reliability, availability, and infrastructure capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering and modern cloud-based data platforms.
• SnowPro certification and strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, including performance tuning, security, and data modeling.
• Advanced SQL and Python skills for analytics engineering, data transformation, processing, automation, and orchestration.
• Experience with dbt or similar analytics engineering frameworks and orchestration tools such as Dagster or Apache Airflow.
• Experience supporting machine learning, feature engineering, or AI-driven use cases on data platforms.
• Excellent English communication skills and availability to collaborate during PT or ET-aligned hours.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake Cortex, Snowpark, ML workflows, GenAI, or LLM-enabled analytics.
• Experience with Databricks, hybrid Snowflake and Databricks architectures, or real-time data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Terraform, CDPs, marketing platforms, or digital experience ecosystems.
