Senior Java Backend Engineer (OMS)

Location: Paris, France; permanent onsite position

What you will do

• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable backend solutions for omni-channel retail and order management.
• Develop, test, debug, deploy, and maintain Java-based microservices.
• Design integrations with Order Management Systems and retail platforms covering order orchestration, inventory visibility, fulfilment, returns, and payment flows.
• Troubleshoot defects, integration issues, and performance bottlenecks, including production incidents with the Support team.
• Work with DevOps and QA teams on CI/CD pipelines, automation, deployment processes, and automated testing.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute technical enhancements to the product or solution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Java Software Engineer, with strong expertise in Java 21 and the Spring ecosystem.
• Mandatory experience with Order Management Systems, Fluent Commerce, order orchestration, and omni-retail processes.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, API-first principles, RESTful APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, JSON, XML, HTTP, and GraphQL.
• Experience with MySQL, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, AWS, messaging systems, and integration patterns.
• Knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, Keycloak, Okta, IntelliJ, Maven, Git, SonarQube, Snyk, Insomnia, RobotFramework, Jira, and Confluence.
• Fluency in English is required. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is expected.
