Software Engineer (Fullstack)

Software Engineer (Fullstack): Building and scaling the Synthetic Monitoring platform within the Grafana Cloud ecosystem with an accent on distributed systems, Go backend services, and React-based user workflows. Location: Must be based in Spain, Sweden, UK, Ireland, or Germany.

Salary: €76,000 – €95,000 (Base range for Germany; other locations subject to local market ranges).

What you will do

• Own features end-to-end, from API and data model design in Go to user-facing workflows in TypeScript/React.
• Contribute to architectural decisions regarding scheduling, probe lifecycle, and telemetry ingestion.
• Build cross-product and AI-assisted workflows to connect Synthetic Monitoring to the wider Grafana Cloud platform.
• Ensure product operability at enterprise scale, focusing on governance and management primitives.
• Break down complex, ambiguous problems into incremental deliverables and iterate based on feedback.
• Participate in the team's on-call rotation and maintain high standards for system reliability and observability.

Requirements

• Must be located in Spain, Sweden, UK, Ireland, or Germany.
• Strong experience with Go or a proven path to it, with deep background in production backend systems (Rust, Java, C++).
• Operational mindset with experience running production services and managing reliability.
• Systems thinking ability to reason about data flow, failure modes, and operational behavior.
• Experience with a user-centered software development process.
• Proficiency in using AI tools to accelerate engineering workflows, including code review and design tradeoffs.
• Clear communication skills in written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Experience designing or operating multi-tenant SaaS systems at scale.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Grafana, Datadog, or Prometheus.
• Experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Knowledge of k6, Playwright, or browser automation at scale.
• Contributions to open source projects.
