What you will do

• Own the implementation and long-term maintenance of gameplay animation systems within Unreal Engine.
• Design and iterate on Animation Blueprints, State Machines, Blend Spaces, and Animation Montages.
• Collaborate with Game Designers and Animators to translate creative direction into scalable technical implementations.
• Develop reusable animation frameworks, tools, and workflows to improve production efficiency.
• Troubleshoot runtime issues while balancing animation quality with performance constraints.
• Mentor the animation team and document technical workflows and best practices.

Requirements

• French and English: spoken and written proficiency required.
• 3+ years of experience in Technical Animation, Gameplay Animation, or Technical Design in game development.
• Professional experience implementing gameplay animation systems in Unreal Engine.
• Proficiency with DCC software such as Maya and/or MotionBuilder.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex gameplay animation issues.
• Must be based in Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with Control Rig, Motion Matching, Full Body IK, or procedural animation.
• Ability to create tools or automation using Python, Blueprints, or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with Gameplay Ability System (GAS).
• Experience with C++.
• Experience shipping AAA titles.
