What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, and test embedded software for Linux-based systems.
• Perform manual and automated verification to ensure software functionality complies with technical specifications.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex embedded system issues.
• Document software solutions and continuously improve quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Customer Support to investigate and resolve field issues.

Requirements

• Academic degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable field.
• Proficiency in Rust and/or C/C++ and strong Linux shell skills.
• Experience with Embedded Linux and Git version control.
• Experience using software debugging tools and methods such as GDB and logging.
• Good communication skills in German and English required.
• Must be based in or able to work from Meiningen, Germany.

Nice to have

• Experience with Yocto build systems.
• Experience in Linux kernel driver development.
• Experience designing or developing real-time applications.
• Practical knowledge of inter-process communication (IPC) mechanisms.
• Knowledge of optical networking technologies.
