What you will do

• Plan and execute field data-collection campaigns across Europe, including flight planning and site assessment.
• Configure, tune, and troubleshoot PX4/ArduPilot flight stacks for stable, repeatable missions.
• Operate and verify sensor payloads like cameras, lidar, and GNSS during flight operations.
• Maintain the drone fleet, including repairs, battery management, and configuration control.
• Collaborate with hardware and robotics engineers on payload integration and platform optimization.
• Ensure all operations comply with EU aviation regulations and internal safety procedures.

Requirements

• Substantial real-world flight experience with multirotor drones and valid EU A2/A3 certification.
• Practical expertise in PX4 or ArduPilot, including parameter tuning and log analysis.
• Hands-on hardware skills for drone assembly, soldering, and multimeter debugging.
• Willingness to travel regularly for field campaigns and work outdoors in various conditions.
• English proficiency required for all documentation and communication.

Nice to have

• Scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 and companion computers like Jetson or Raspberry Pi.
• Background in FPV, drone racing, or RC modeling.
• CAD basics and 3D-printing experience.
• German driving license class B.
