TL;DR
Mid Java Developer (Java/Spring): Building a greenfield fintech platform for a banking institution with an accent on event-driven microservices and scalable backend APIs. Focus on designing core financial services, optimizing PostgreSQL schemas, and implementing asynchronous processing.
Location: Hybrid from Gdynia, Gdańsk, Warszawa, Rzeszów, or Kraków (2 days per week from the office)
Salary: 600-900 PLN per man-day on B2B

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for a greenfield fintech platform.
- Implement business logic using Java and Spring framework within an event-driven architecture.
- Design PostgreSQL database schemas, write queries, and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate within a cross-functional squad including Tech Leads, BAs, and QA Engineers.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.
- Communicate technical progress and decisions in English to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of commercial experience in Java backend development.
- Hands-on experience with Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, or Spring Cloud).
- Experience with event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases.
- Fluent English (C1) for professional communication.
- Must be based in or able to work hybrid from Gdynia, Gdańsk, Warszawa, Rzeszów, or Kraków.
Nice to have
- Experience with Kafka or similar distributed messaging platforms.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes.
- Prior experience in the financial services or banking domain.
- Experience building systems from scratch (greenfield projects).
