Salary: $182,000 – $242,000

What you will do
- Design secure execution environments using containerd, runc, gVisor, Kata Containers, KubeVirt, and KVM/QEMU.
- Build GPU-aware runtime infrastructure supporting VFIO, Kata, NVIDIA GPU Operator, and PCIe passthrough for multi-tenant AI workloads.
- Optimize Linux kernel and hypervisor performance, focusing on scheduling, memory management, I/O, and NUMA locality.
- Debug complex interactions across Linux, KVM, GPU drivers, firmware, and Kubernetes.
- Develop observability and debugging tooling using eBPF, perf, tracepoints, and kernel tracing infrastructure.
- Collaborate with security, platform, and networking teams to define next-generation runtime isolation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production systems software, platform infrastructure, or virtualization.
- Deep Linux systems knowledge (namespaces, cgroups, scheduling, memory management, networking).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (KVM, QEMU, VFIO, virtio, Kata Containers, KubeVirt, Firecracker, or gVisor).
- Strong systems programming skills in Go, Rust, C/C++, or a combination.
- Experience building or operating Kubernetes platforms and container runtimes at scale.
- Must be a U.S. person to comply with U.S. Government export regulations.
Nice to have
- Linux kernel development or kernel module experience.
- Expertise in NVIDIA GPU drivers, GPU Operator, CDI, and GPU virtualization.
- Contributions to open-source projects like Linux, KVM, QEMU, Kata Containers, or Kubernetes.
- Understanding of PCIe, IOMMU, DMA, NUMA, and modern server hardware architecture.
