Systems Engineer (SME)

TL;DR

Systems Engineer (SME) (Infrastructure): Building and maintaining rapidly expanding infrastructure and assisting with enterprise modernization with an accent on availability, performance, and security. Focus on installing and supporting enterprise systems, implementing virtualization and containerization, and ensuring DOD quality standards.

Location: Fully onsite in Hampton, Virginia. Must have active TS/SCI clearance.

Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 Annually

What you will do

• Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal IT teams to modernize enterprise systems.
• Develop control features and quality control procedures to ensure systems meet organizational standards.
• Install, configure, and support mission-critical enterprise infrastructure and computing environments.
• Train team members on data security and troubleshooting processes.
• Coordinate with PMO and Portfolio Managers to meet project deliverables according to timelines.
• Manage the full life cycle of IT systems.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• DOD 8140 IAT II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, or CND).
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or commensurate professional experience.
• Proven experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting complex computing environments.
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box, Docker).
• Experience with automation software.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in computer, software, or systems engineering.
• Experience with DOD Networks (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS).
• Solid scripting skills, particularly in PowerShell.
