What you will do

• Architect the real-time middleware and runtime, including data-exchange layers and communication patterns.
• Define the technical strategy for integrating industrial automation platforms and hardware protocols (e.g., OPC-UA, Modbus).
• Design the edge-to-cloud contract for telemetry and commands between devices and AWS services.
• Solve complex problems regarding bounded latency, determinism, and resource constraints on embedded hardware.
• Mentor junior engineers and establish high engineering standards for testing and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Experience as a tech lead or mentor leading engineering teams.
• Proficiency in modern languages like Java, C++, or C# with object-oriented design.
• Proven track record in professional software development and system architecture.
• Expertise in professional software engineering best practices (CI/CD, code reviews, testing).
• Location: Must be based in London, UK
