Network Engineer II

Location: Anchorage, Alaska, United States; remote eligible with restrictions. The role may require occasional travel between retail stores, offices, worksites, or other locations.

What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, and support high-availability network and system facilities.
• Maintain network integrity and optimize performance, availability, efficiency, redundancy, scalability, and security.
• Monitor networks, troubleshoot outages, schedule updates, and collaborate with architects on optimization.
• Audit and forecast capacity, bandwidth, hardware, software licensing, and hosted devices.
• Coordinate with project management and engineering teams, manage escalations, and provide operational reports.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technologies, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least four years of progressive engineering experience in information technology, development, engineering, project management, telecommunications, or a related field.
• Comprehensive understanding of telecommunications operations, engineering functions, applicable codes, and standards.
• Experience with network protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, TCP/IP, QoS, and redundancy protocols.
• Ability to work assigned shifts, including occasional weekends, holidays, or emergency after-hours support.

Nice to have

• Telecommunications industry experience.
• Telecom or role-specific certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIA, JNCIP, or PCNSA.
