Salary: $110,000–$140,000

What you will do

• Operate, calibrate, and maintain high-value analytical equipment including XRD, XRF, and FTIR.
• Characterize chemicals, pigments, and mineral fillers to ensure compliance with raw material specifications.
• Investigate structure-property relationships of polymers and chemicals to improve efficiency.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for out-of-spec batches and evaluate fabrication techniques.
• Synthesize analytical data into actionable reports for cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with R&D and Process Technology teams to validate new formulations and manufacturing improvements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Material Science, Polymer Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with analytical instrumentation such as XRD, XRF, FTIR, rheometer, or GCMS.
• Strong data analysis and statistical skills.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment and wear required PPE.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required by the role.

Nice to have

• PhD in Material Science, Polymer Chemistry, or related field.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement principles like Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
• ASQ Certification in Quality Engineering or Auditing.
