Statutory Accountant

Location: CR GBS Heredia Office, Costa Rica

What you will do

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activities, including account reconciliations, financial analysis, and fixed asset management.
• Prepare and file legal, statutory, and annual financial reports under US GAAP and IFRS.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cost management, tax optimization, and business decision-making through accounting analysis.
• Monitor internal controls and SOX compliance, and prepare or recommend accounting policies and procedures.
• Support free trade zone, Social Security, tax, and regulatory audits.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and systems and contribute to special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Costa Rican regulations and Ministerio de Hacienda requirements.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.
• Fluent English communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; strong organization, analytical, communication, and prioritization skills.
