TL;DR
Associate PLC/HMI Programmer (Industrial Automation): Developing and implementing SCADA and plant control systems for water and wastewater facilities with an accent on PLC and HMI configuration. Focus on factory testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems to ensure reliability of critical infrastructure.
Location: Must be based in the Phoenix metro area (Hybrid options may be offered after 90 days)

What you will do
- Develop, implement, and program SCADA and plant control systems (RTU, PLC, HMI) for water and wastewater facilities.
- Prepare engineering deliverables and research equipment, materials, and controls approaches.
- Participate in factory testing, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems.
- Develop control narratives, operator interfaces, and ensure documentation standards compliance.
- Coordinate with project leadership, utility staff, and contractors on project assignments.
- Support continuous improvement and change-management efforts for the Systems Design Group.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering technology or sciences preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience in PLC, RTU, SCADA, HMI, or controls.
- Working knowledge of PLC/HMI programming concepts and basic troubleshooting practices.
- Must be based in the Phoenix metro area.
- Ability to travel within the Phoenix metro area to various project sites.
Nice to have
- Exposure to Modicon M580 and Control Expert.
- Exposure to Allen-Bradley ControlLogix.
- Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms such as VTScada, AVEVA InTouch, FactoryTalk View, or GE Proficy iFIX.
- Familiarity with communication protocols: Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and DNP3.
- Interest or experience in water/wastewater or consulting engineering.
