What you will do

• Provide legal and regulatory advice on lending regulations including Reg Z, Reg B, Fair Lending, and state licensing.
• Act as a subject matter expert for consumer and commercial lending, bank partnership arrangements, and model risk management.
• Lead the resolution of complex, cross-functional regulatory and bank partnership issues.
• Translate legal and regulatory risk into actionable guidance for senior business, product, and compliance stakeholders.
• Analyze the impact of new rules and regulations to proactively flag business implications.
• Support the strategic development of novel consumer financial products from concept through launch.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in a law firm, financial services regulatory agency, bank partnership role, or in-house.
• Substantive experience with lending and bank partnership issues and relationships.
• JD and active membership in good standing with the Bar of a resident state, California, or New York.
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex legal issues to resolution.
• Experience engaging directly with senior stakeholders across legal, compliance, and product teams.
• High degree of comfort and fluency with technology applied to business and regulatory problems.
