What you will do

• Architect, design, and manage the development of innovative Layer1 features in collaboration with customers and hardware engineers.
• Develop and maintain software using C, C++, and Python, and build accompanying automated test infrastructure.
• Work with hardware and manufacturing teams to bring new components like Phys and Transceivers to market.
• Build instrumentation and telemetry tools to track physical link health parameters.
• Provide technical leadership across projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Analyze, mitigate, and fix complex networking problems in customer environments.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering (BS + 8 years, MS + 6 years, or PhD + 3 years experience).
• Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX or Linux systems.
• Applied understanding of software engineering principles and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to design and implement features independently within small teams.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of digital communication technologies such as modulation and signal encoding schemes.
• Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems.
• Experience working with low-level hardware components.
