Engineer, Mechanical (Medical Diagnostics)

Location: On-site in Vista, California, United States

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

hirify.global’s Leica Biosystems develops medical diagnostic solutions spanning biopsy through diagnosis, with a focus on cancer diagnostics.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain mechanical components and systems for new and existing diagnostic products.
• Define design inputs and outputs, including requirements, traceability, mechanical drawings, and design documentation.
• Own sustainment and hardware improvement projects targeting quality, obsolescence, cost, and product variation.
• Support R&D investigations, regulatory responses, field issues, and mechanical countermeasures.
• Troubleshoot component- and system-level issues identified through manufacturing or field escalations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of verification and validation practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or a similar discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in an applicable engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience using CAD programs such as SolidWorks or Creo.
• Ability to work on-site in Vista, California, United States.
• Ability to travel globally up to 10% of the year and lift, move, or carry equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with motion control, optical systems, and digital imaging.
• Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and FDA regulatory standards.
• Experience with measurement and analysis techniques for mechanical components and assemblies.
