Salary: $163,000 - $263,670

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and career growth opportunities.
• Partner with PM and Design to scope, estimate, and sequence roadmap items, managing scope tradeoffs.
• Own the team's delivery of features, ensuring completion within timelines and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with adjacent teams on shared infrastructure decisions and cross-team dependencies.
• Drive operational excellence, improving reliability, observability, and incident response for production data infrastructure.
• Participate in hiring to grow the team and raise the engineering bar.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience managing a team of backend or infrastructure engineers.
• Proven ability to translate business goals into engineering plans with reliable estimations.
• Experience with observability practices (metrics, tracing, alerting) and production incident response.
• Strong communication skills for distributed team environments and cross-timezone collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go or comparable backend languages (Java, Python, Rust).
• Familiarity with data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks.
• Experience with data pipeline tooling like Airflow or Prequel.
