TL;DR
Computer Vision Engineer (Maps): Designing and building image processing pipelines for raw sensor data to create map-ready imagery products with an accent on machine learning and traditional computer vision. Focus on processing aerial/satellite imagery, lidar point clouds, and scaling batch ETL workflows on cloud infrastructure.
Location: Hybrid role based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (requires 2 days per week in the office).

What you will do
- Design and build image processing pipelines combining machine learning and computer vision.
- Process diverse remote sensing data including aerial imagery, satellite data, and lidar point clouds.
- Extract map information from street-level and aerial imagery sources.
- Reconstruct 3D scenes from lidar data for high-definition mapping.
- Develop and scale batch ETL workflows on Azure and AWS.
- Adapt cutting-edge research into production-ready tools to improve map quality.
Requirements
- Significant experience in image processing, computer vision, or remote sensing.
- Proven track record of shipping production systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with OpenCV.
- Experience working with lidar or 3D point cloud data.
- Experience running batch processing workflows in cloud environments like Azure or AWS.
- Ability to translate research papers into working solutions for large-scale datasets.
Nice to have
- Experience generating DEM, DTM, or DSM products.
- Background in photogrammetry or 3D reconstruction.
- Publications or open-source contributions in computer vision or remote sensing.
