What you will do
- Design, build, and scale a clinical genomic data platform for normalizing genetic and genomic test results.
- Develop logical data models to power a suite of Community Oncology facing products.
- Ensure genomic data integrity while enabling diverse use cases across products like OncoEMR and Flatiron Assist.
- Collaborate with engineers, clinicians, and product managers to integrate data models into complex EHR workflows.
- Apply industry best practices to encode healthcare data for maximum interoperability.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Masters or PhD preferred) in bioinformatics, biomedical informatics, molecular biology, or a related field.
- Strong experience with genomic standards (HGNC, HGVS) and file formats (VCF, GVCF, BED).
- Experience with SQL or cloud data warehouses.
- Knowledge of clinical oncology genomic profiling tests and the associated data generation process.
- Ability to communicate complex genomic information to non-scientific stakeholders.
- Must be based in or able to work from the Durham office.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in coding languages such as Python or R.
- Familiarity with standard medical terminologies (SNOMED, ICD-10, LOINC) and interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7).
- Experience with clinical next-generation sequencing (NGS) data and CAP/CLIA compliant workflows.
- Experience collaborating directly with molecular profiling labs.
