Senior Software Engineer (.NET) (IoT)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (.NET) (IoT): Designing and optimizing backend services for a cloud-based access control platform with an accent on cloud APIs, event pipelines, and hardware communication. Focus on building scalable distributed systems, managing device configuration and firmware updates, and integrating real-world IoT hardware.

Location: Kraków, Poland. Must work fully from the office with possibility to work remotely occasionally.

What you will do

• Design and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data models for the access control platform.
• Build and improve the device communication layer connecting the cloud to panels, readers, and locks.
• Develop features across the full stack, including web front-end components using Ember.js.
• Drive technical projects end-to-end, making architectural decisions to ensure scalability and security.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and onboarding.
• Work directly with physical access control hardware to develop and debug device integrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience delivering complex projects.
• Advanced object-oriented programming skills, preferably in C#.
• Strong expertise in SQL and database design.
• Proven track record of implementing unit testing and automated testing strategies.
• Experience with distributed systems, real-time communications, or high-performance applications.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Ember.js, Angular, or React.
• Experience in the IoT or home automation field.
