What you will do

• Collaborate with mobile engineers to design and evolve the Android platform.
• Lead the migration of the application from React Native to native Android using Kotlin.
• Partner with the wider mobile community to define and implement native development best practices.
• Identify bottlenecks and address technical debt to optimize performance and user experience.
• Work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver native features.

Requirements

• Experience building and shipping production Android applications in Kotlin.
• Solid understanding of Android frameworks, platform APIs, and native development best practices.
• Background in high-engagement mobile applications with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Proven track record of raising engineering standards through thoughtful design and maintainable code.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.

Nice to have

• Experience applying mobile security best practices in production.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile build, test, and release automation.
• Experience collaborating with iOS (Swift) or React Native engineers in cross-platform environments.
