Senior Manager, Strategy & Operations CEO Office (Fintech)

Salary: £100K–£170K annual base pay, plus potential equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the strategy for Airwallex’s expansion into new markets across EMEA and the Middle East.
• Define market-entry approaches, including licensing paths, entity structures, and commercial models.
• Translate regulatory and licensing requirements into product scope, roadmap sequencing, and operating models.
• Build AI-assisted tools, templates, dashboards, and workflows to systematize market-entry execution.
• Run launch-readiness governance, risk assessments, cross-functional sign-offs, and go/no-go decisions.
• Support additional CEO Office initiatives such as strategic reviews, restructuring, migration projects, crisis response, and cross-market structuring.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in top-tier strategy consulting, financial services law, or fintech/payments strategy and expansion roles.
• Meaningful experience with market-entry or licensing-driven projects and complex multi-stakeholder programs.
• Experience with financial-services regulation and licensing, including payments, e-money, banking, or card issuing.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools for research, analysis, documentation, or workflow automation, with sound verification judgment.
• Strong operating discipline, executive communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
• High ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and willingness to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience launching markets or driving licence applications in EMEA or the Middle East.
• Background combining consulting with in-house operations, or legal/regulatory work with commercial or product roles.
• Experience in a CEO Office, strategy and operations team, or similar central team.
• Experience building lightweight AI tooling for launch tracking, risk management, and dependency management.
