Actuarial Consultant (Property & Casualty)

TL;DR

Actuarial Consultant (Property & Casualty): Analyzing complex problems and developing workable solutions for self-insured clients with an accent on loss reserving and predictive modeling. Focus on applying complex actuarial theories to create statistical models and ensuring technical accuracy of analyses for large corporations and captive insurance companies.

Location: Hybrid (must be in local office at least three days per week)

What you will do

• Execute loss reserving projects and engagements in pricing, predictive modeling, and economic capital modeling.
• Take ownership of project tasks and maintain seamless communication with clients.
• Review and validate analysts' work to ensure technical accuracy across templates and exhibits.
• Apply complex actuarial theories and principles to develop statistical models.
• Prepare production exhibits and written reports to present findings.
• Support the preparation of proposals and presentations for prospective clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of two actuarial exams passed; progress towards ACAS/FCAS is preferred.
• 4+ years of actuarial experience in the Property and Casualty industry.
• Experience with large self-insured corporations, captives, (re)insurers, or state regulators.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel as needed for client engagements.

Nice to have

• Previous consulting experience.
• Proficiency in R, SAS, SQL, or VBA.
