What you will do

• Fabricate, modify, and rebuild complex mechanical and electromechanical assemblies.
• Operate manual mills, lathes, drill presses, and other fabrication tools to create prototype components and fixtures.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications for hardware assembly.
• Inspect components to ensure they meet design requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineers to diagnose and resolve mechanical and system performance issues.
• Document fabrication processes, maintenance activities, and test results.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly, machine shop operations, or prototype fabrication.
• High school diploma or GED (Associate degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Technology preferred).
• Strong proficiency in operating manual machine shop equipment and precision measurement tools.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Must be located in or able to work onsite in Plainview, NY.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with CAD software.
• Experience with vacuum systems or semiconductor equipment.
• Experience rebuilding precision mechanical systems.
