What you will do

• Architect, install, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances (2019, 2025, Azure SQL) in complex Windows environments.
• Lead end-to-end application performance engineering, including execution plan analysis and query optimization.
• Design and implement robust HA/DR solutions using Always On Availability Groups and Log Shipping.
• Establish monitoring baselines and SLA-aligned alerting using Extended Events, DMVs, and Wait Statistics.
• Govern database security through role-based access controls and encryption strategies.
• Automate routine maintenance tasks using PowerShell and SQL Agent.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience in large-scale production environments.
• Expert proficiency with SQL Server 2019/2025 and Windows Server 2019/2022.
• Advanced T-SQL skills and deep expertise in application performance tuning.
• Proven experience with Always On Availability Groups and Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC).
• Must be based in Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, or Chile.
• Experience with point-in-time restores and disaster recovery planning.

Nice to have

• Microsoft certifications such as DP-300 or MCSE Data Management & Analytics.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database or SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Proficiency with APM tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or New Relic.
• Experience with Redgate SQL Monitor, SolarWinds DPA, or SentryOne.
• Exposure to DevOps CI/CD pipelines for database deployments (Flyway, Liquibase).
