Systems Programmer (zLinux)

What you will do

• Lead administration, configuration, and optimization of zLinux and zVM systems on mainframe platforms.
• Ensure system availability and patch compliance while proactively mitigating risks.
• Develop Linux shell scripts and integrate management tools for automation.
• Drive initiatives for system monitoring and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional global teams to maintain enterprise standards and business continuity.
• Mentor junior team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in mainframe or zLinux system administration/support.
• 3+ years in a senior or lead capacity.
• Deep expertise in zLinux/zVM system management and performance optimization.
• Advanced proficiency in Linux shell scripting.
• English: Intermediate to advanced level required for global collaboration and documentation.
• Location: Must be based in Mexico City, Mexico.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications in Linux, mainframe, or ITIL.
• Proven track record in leading modernization and automation projects.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior staff.
