Research Analyst (AI Networking)

Location: Full-time in-office; position can be based in the United States or Asia. Work hours are office hours.

What you will do

• Build and maintain components of the AI Networking Model and Dashboard, including datacenter architectures, rack designs, and bill-of-materials economics.
• Track the copper-to-optics transition across pluggables, co-packaged optics, coherent optics, DWDM, ROADMs/AWGs, and optical circuit switching.
• Monitor networking and optics suppliers, analyze earnings disclosures, and write analyst notes on design wins, total addressable market shifts, and technology transitions.
• Analyze interactions between networking architecture, cost, power, cooling, and supply-chain constraints.
• Build three-statement and industry financial models, scenario-based forecasts, research reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
• Represent hirify.global at conferences and develop primary-source relationships with vendors, hyperscalers, and technologists.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, the buy-side, a startup, or a similarly analytical environment.
• Proficiency in three-statement and industry financial modeling, with strong Excel skills.
• Strong research skills and the ability to synthesize technical and financial information into clear insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly.
• Ability to work independently with a globally distributed team while working full-time in-office.
• Ability to be based in the United States or Asia and work during office hours.

Nice to have

• Prior knowledge of networking, telecommunications, or hardware.
• Technical background and familiarity with AI tools, Python, or other analytical tools.
• PowerPoint proficiency.
• Experience with adjacent interconnect, power, cooling, or datacenter domains.
