Sr. Software Engineer - Surface Engineering (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid in Bucharest, Romania

What you will do

• Develop and enhance backend microservices from initial research to final implementation.
• Build cloud-based systems using existing tools to detect and prioritize targeted attacks.
• Collaborate and lead initiatives across multiple teams to define and build scalable ecosystems.
• Ensure high code quality through strict adherence to best practices, testing, logging, and metrics.
• Mentor other developers on backend, data storage, and web technologies.
• Optimize architecture and knowledge models to improve system stability and user experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of production-level experience building and maintaining systems at scale.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience in distributed systems and algorithms.
• Deep understanding of scalability concepts including sharding, partitioning, and concurrency.
• Proficiency in engineering best practices, TDD, and effective peer code reviews.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Bucharest, Romania.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, Python, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, or Elasticsearch.
• Prior experience in the cybersecurity or intelligence fields.
• Frontend development experience.
