C++ Software Engineer with Linux (Networking)

What you will do

• Develop features for forwarding internet and cloud data center traffic in Arista's EOS software.
• Write functional and design specifications, implementation code, test plans, and automated test programs.
• Work on routing protocol solutions, including testing and debugging larger networking problems.
• Analyze customer network issues and system test failures, delivering software releases or patches to resolve them.
• Review other engineers' specifications and implementations, contribute to project scheduling, and report progress.
• Mentor new and junior engineers and collaborate with marketing, customer support, and system test teams.

Requirements

• BSc, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of related postgraduate work experience.
• Knowledge of C and/or C++.
• Knowledge of UNIX or Linux.
• Understanding of networking concepts such as L2, L3, and commercial switching hardware is desirable for the role.
