What you will do

• Lead the design and development of public APIs, event frameworks, and client libraries for external developers.
• Translate developer workflows and business needs into high-quality, scalable technical solutions.
• Shape the 6-12 month technical direction for the developer platform.
• Mentor other engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and onboarding support.
• Own the full development lifecycle from design and implementation to testing and production monitoring.

Requirements

• Professional experience designing and maintaining scalable backend or full-stack platform systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python or JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience building APIs, webhooks, and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of platform concepts such as OAuth, permission models, rate limits, and event delivery.
• Must be based in Vancouver, Canada for a hybrid work arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience building developer platforms or third-party integrations.
• Experience with data pipelines (ETL).
• Knowledge of high-throughput async systems such as Redis or message queues.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools like Gemini or Claude.
