Lead Data Engineer

What you will do

• Design and build modern data solutions across the Retail Analytics Data Hub.
• Develop scalable data pipelines using modern ELT approaches and tools such as Snowflake, ADF, and dbt Cloud.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, delivery plans, and engineering tasks.
• Lead data modelling activities, including Kimball-style fact and dimension design.
• Support migration from legacy tooling to Snowflake-centred data solutions.
• Mentor and coach data engineers; improve standards, documentation, quality, governance, and release processes within Scrum teams.

Requirements

• Strong experience in data engineering, including building and operating data pipelines.
• Good understanding of data modelling and dimensional modelling using Kimball principles.
• Experience with modern data tooling such as Snowflake, ADF, dbt Cloud (or equivalent).
• Ability to translate business needs into clear technical delivery plans and specifications.
• Experience delivering in Agile or Scrum environments.
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; experience mentoring or coaching engineers.
