Salary: £160,000 - £200,000

What you will do

• Provide engineering consultancy services for HVDC, FACTS, and high-voltage transmission/cable projects.
• Conduct technical due diligence, feasibility assessments, conceptual design, and cost estimation.
• Perform design reviews, witness factory testing, and support construction and commissioning.
• Advise on operational issues, incident investigations, and asset performance improvements.
• Support client engagement, tender submissions, and business development.
• Mentor junior engineers to grow the internal HVDC advisory capability.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience delivering HVDC, FACTS, or closely related high-voltage transmission technologies.
• Proven track record across project development, delivery, commissioning, or operational phases.
• Strong consulting and stakeholder management experience in client-facing roles.
• Ability to manage technical deliverables, project budgets, and quality outcomes.
• Australian working rights and willingness to travel to project sites.

Nice to have

• Background working with HVDC OEMs or transmission utilities.
• Experience in engineering consultancies or renewable energy development.
• Experience in power systems advisory firms.
